Greek Grape Varieties
Greece is blessed with many grape varieties. It is this uniqueness that makes its wines so interesting. It is nearly impossible to become bored, as there are so many different aromas, flavours and sensations to choose from. One drawback is that the wine lover often has a hard time to inform him- or herself about these varieties. My quest is to make a series of videos available, discussing and tasting 100 Greek wines, each from a different grape variety. At this point in time, I am actually not sure if I will succeed doing so, as not all varieties are used in varietal bottlings. Sometimes a variety adds more to the resulting wine if being used as a part in the blend.
The videos should be informative and educational, the focus is not on the grower, but rather on the variety. I hope that this project will become a reference for the exciting wines that this country has to offer.
